SADDELL AND CARRADALE
Saddell and Carradale Parish is located on the east side of the Kintyre peninsula. It consists of the village of Carradale and outlying communities of Saddell and Grogport. This is a very historic area, including Saddell Castle and the ruins of Saddell Abbey, reported by some to be the burial place of Somerled.
Carradale was traditionally a village built around fishing, but there is little fishing from here now. However, there is a fish farm and thriving farming activity. Forestry also plays a part in the economy and Carradale is popular in the holiday season with people visiting from all over.
Carradale Church is a Victorian gothic building, located at Dippen in the centre of the parish. We offer worship every Sunday, bible study group, monthly Guild meetings and clubs for children and teenagers.
Our vision is:
- To worship God and spread the Good News about Jesus
- To nurture gifts and talents and encourage personal faith
- To care for others and keep the Church relevant
Everyone is welcome to join in our activities.
